Services
Design, editing and publishing support for other authors and presses, from the team that makes our own books.
Cover design and typesetting
A cover that earns a second look, and pages that are comfortable to read.
- Cover design for print and ebook, including spine and back for paperbacks
- Interior typesetting: type, spacing and pagination set for the format you're printing
- Print-ready files built to your printer's specification, plus the ebook cover at the right size
- Two rounds of revisions on the design before files are finalised
Editing and manuscript development
Honest reading at whatever depth the book needs.
- Structural report: what the book is doing, where it loses the reader, what to cut and what to grow
- Line editing: rhythm, clarity and voice, sentence by sentence
- Copy-editing and proofreading, with a style sheet you keep
- A revision plan you can actually work through, in order
Publishing consultancy
Getting a finished book into the world without wasting a year finding out how.
- Choosing a route: retail platforms, print on demand, or a hybrid
- Metadata that helps the book get found: title, categories, keywords, description
- Setting up the listings and checking the files before they go live
- A launch plan sized to your budget and your appetite for publicity
How it works
Write to info@tingle.press and tell us what the book is, how far along it is, and when you want it out. Send a sample: a chapter is plenty.
We'll come back with what we think the book needs, what we'd do, a price for that work and a date we could start. If we're the wrong people, we'll say so.
Our schedule is booked in advance, so there is sometimes a wait for a start date. Nothing begins until the scope and the price are agreed in writing.
What this isn't
Paying us for design or editing doesn't put a book on the Tingle Press list, and we'll never suggest it might. Books we publish are chosen, not sold.
You keep every right in your work, and the finished files are yours. Our terms say the same thing in duller language.
Tell us about your book
A paragraph about the project and a sample chapter are enough to start.
