World Book Day is the annual children's reading day run by the World Book Day charity in the UK and Ireland. The charity has announced that the 2027 day will be held on Thursday 4 March.
The £1/€1.50 books will be in bookshops from 11 February 2027, and tokens can be redeemed until 21 March 2027. The 2027 list includes 12 titles available across the UK, two exclusive Irish titles, one Welsh title and, for the first time, three titles in Scottish Gaelic. Accessible copies in braille, large print and audio are provided through partner charities.
Schools and early years settings register for tokens through the World Book Day website, and bookshops take part by stocking the titles and accepting tokens. Readers can follow announcements of events and resources on the charity's site in the run-up to March.
