The Oxford Literary Festival takes place each spring across the city, using University of Oxford colleges and buildings as venues. Exeter College is its college home, and the Sheldonian Theatre hosts many of its larger events.

The 2025 festival ran from Saturday 29 March to Sunday 6 April. The programme covered fiction, crime, poetry, history, politics, food, religion and current affairs, with named lectures, debates, creative writing sessions and events for children and young people spread across colleges and other venues in the centre of Oxford.

It suits readers with a taste for history and ideas, and writers who want practical sessions alongside author talks. The college settings make it easy to attend several events in a day on foot.
