The Nobel Prize organisation has published the schedule for its 2026 announcements, which run from 5 to 12 October. The Nobel Prize in Literature 2026 will be announced by the Swedish Academy in Stockholm on Thursday 8 October, at 13:00 CEST at the earliest.
All announcements are broadcast live on the official Nobel Prize channels, including nobelprize.org and YouTube, so the literature announcement can be followed from anywhere. There is no public shortlist; nominations are kept confidential for fifty years.
The literature prize recognises an author's body of work rather than a single title. Recent laureates include Han Kang in 2024 and László Krasznahorkai in 2025.
Organised by Swedish Academy. Tingle Press lists it as an event worth your time and is not the organiser. Check the organiser's website for final details.
