London Literature Festival is run by the Southbank Centre on London's South Bank. It was first held in 2007 to mark the reopening of the Royal Festival Hall after refurbishment and describes itself as the longest-running celebration of its kind in the capital.
The 2026 festival runs from Wednesday 21 October to Sunday 1 November. The Southbank Centre describes it as a festival that brings prestigious names together with rising literary stars each autumn, with talks, discussions and in-conversation events across its venues on the South Bank.
It suits readers based in London, poetry audiences, and writers who want to hear established and emerging authors in one place over a fortnight. Check the Southbank Centre's listings for individual events and prices.
