London Literature Festival is run by the Southbank Centre on London's South Bank. It was first held in 2007 to mark the reopening of the Royal Festival Hall after refurbishment and describes itself as the longest-running celebration of its kind in the capital.
The 2025 festival ran from 21 October to 2 November. Events took place across the Royal Festival Hall, Queen Elizabeth Hall, Purcell Room and National Poetry Library, and online. The programme included international fiction in translation, poetry evenings, a schools event, and shortlist readings for the Goldsmiths Prize, with some events livestreamed or free.
It suits readers in and around London, poetry audiences, and writers interested in literary and translated fiction. The prize readings are useful for anyone following new British and Irish fiction.
