London Literature Festival is run by the Southbank Centre on London's South Bank. It was first held in 2007 to mark the reopening of the Royal Festival Hall after refurbishment and describes itself as the longest-running celebration of its kind in the capital.
The 2024 festival ran from 23 October to 3 November. As in other years, the programme brought together established names and newer writers for talks, discussions, readings and in-conversation events, celebrating the written and spoken word for readers of every age.
It suits London readers who want a strong programme without travelling, and writers and small publishers who want to see how a major arts centre presents books to a mixed audience.
