Independent Bookshop Week is a campaign of the Booksellers Association, run under its Books Are My Bag banner, that celebrates the part independent bookshops play in their communities. It was launched in 2006 and takes place each June.
The 2025 edition ran from Saturday 14 June to Saturday 21 June, the campaign's 19th year. Participating shops held their own events through the week, from author talks to book clubs, and the Indie Book Awards, with shortlists chosen by independent booksellers, are announced during the campaign.
Readers can take part by buying from a local independent, organising a bookshop crawl with friends, or following their nearest shop for news of events. Independent publishers can get involved through schemes that pair them with bookshops for local activity.
