Hay Festival is held every spring in Hay-on-Wye, the Welsh booktown near Bannau Brycheiniog National Park. The 2027 edition will be the festival's 40th anniversary.
The festival has announced that it will run from Thursday 27 May to Sunday 6 June 2027. The programme has not yet been published. Recent editions have included more than 600 events covering fiction, non-fiction, politics, science and performance, with events for children and a free schools programme. Members of the festival receive priority booking before general sale.
It suits readers who like to plan ahead for a long stay, and anyone with an interest in books who wants to see one of the UK's largest literary festivals at a milestone year.
