FIL Guadalajara, the Guadalajara International Book Fair, runs from 28 November to 6 December 2026 at Expo Guadalajara. It is organised by the University of Guadalajara, and 2026 marks its 40th edition, with Italy as Guest of Honour.
The fair is both a large public festival and a trade event. Over nine days it hosts author talks, readings, literary prizes and a children's programme, alongside a professional programme and rights centre for publishers, agents, booksellers, librarians and translators. In 2025 it reported more than 950,000 visitors and 18,400 book professionals.
It is the event to know for anyone publishing in Spanish or selling rights into Spanish-language markets. Small publishers with translation ambitions will find many of the region's editors and agents in one place.
