FIL Guadalajara, the Guadalajara International Book Fair, is run by the University of Guadalajara and is the largest gathering in Spanish-language publishing. The 2025 fair ran for nine days at Expo Guadalajara, with Barcelona as Guest of Honour.
The fair pairs a public programme of author talks, readings, prizes and a children's section with a professional programme for publishers, booksellers, librarians, translators and agents. It reported 953,112 visitors, 2,790 publishing imprints from 64 countries, 18,400 book professionals and 165 literary agents.
It is most useful for publishers and agents working with Spanish-language markets, and for anyone selling translation rights into Latin America. Readers and writers will find one of the largest literary programmes of the year.
