Green Libraries Week is the annual celebration, led by CILIP, of libraries across all sectors and their work on climate and sustainability. It covers England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland.
The 2026 edition runs from Wednesday 21 October to Wednesday 28 October. Its theme is Climate Facts for a greener future: navigating mis- and disinformation in libraries, drawing on trusted sources such as the Met Office. A free online webinar on climate misinformation, open to CILIP members and non-members, takes place on 21 October.
Libraries can add their events to the Green Libraries Week 2026 map and download materials in English and Welsh, along with reading lists for adults and children. Readers can check the map for activity at a library near them.
