Green Libraries Week is an annual national campaign led by CILIP, the library and information association, celebrating how libraries in every sector support climate action and sustainability.
The 2024 edition ran from Monday 7 October to Sunday 13 October, with a focus on lifelong learning and how people of all ages can learn, change and adapt. Library services planned local programmes; in Oxfordshire, for example, these included a food waste workshop for families, a wildlife session and a junk modelling day.
Readers can take part by visiting their local library during the week, while libraries add their events to CILIP's campaign map and use its promotional materials and reading lists.
