Cambridge Literary Festival is a charity that began as Cambridge Wordfest in 2003. It holds a spring festival and, since 2008, a shorter winter festival, with events in venues across the city including the Cambridge Union, colleges and the Central Library.
The 2026 winter festival runs on Saturday 21 and Sunday 22 November, with around 30 events. Venues include the Arts Theatre, the Cambridge Union, Newnham and Pembroke Colleges, the Old Divinity School and the University Arms, and some events are online. Subjects range from fiction, crime and memoir to economics, history, science and social justice, with children's and schools events alongside.
It suits readers who want a short weekend of talks before Christmas, and writers interested in how authors of serious non-fiction present their work.
