Bradford Literature Festival was founded in 2014 and describes itself as the UK's largest diverse-led cultural organisation. Its programme reflects the city and contemporary Britain, and it uses an Ethical Ticketing scheme that offers free access to people who could not otherwise afford to attend.
The 2025 festival ran from 27 June to 6 July. The organisers report 752 events, including 11 exhibitions and 52 education programme events, and more than 187,000 attendances. The programme mixed literature, poetry, current affairs, faith, history and performance, with family fun days on both weekends and a free education programme for schools.
It suits readers who want a broad and outward-looking programme at modest prices, families, and writers interested in audiences that many literary festivals do not reach.
