Bookshop Day is the Booksellers Association's annual celebration of high street bookshops, run through the Books Are My Bag campaign that it established in 2013. Independent shops and chain branches across the UK and Ireland take part.
The 2025 edition took place on Saturday 11 October. As in other years, a limited-edition tote bag was sold in bookshops, and shops including Waterstones, Foyles, Blackwell's and many independents hosted their own events and promotions. The Books Are My Bag Readers Awards, whose shortlists are chosen by booksellers and winners by readers, form part of the same campaign.
Readers can take part by visiting a bookshop on the day, attending a local event and posting about it with #BookshopDay. The campaign's own site lists participating shops and the year's activity.
