Details and tickets

The Booker Prize Foundation has announced that the winner of the Booker Prize 2026 will be named on Monday 9 November 2026 at a ceremony at Old Billingsgate in London. The winner receives £50,000 and each shortlisted author £2,500.

This year's judges are chaired by the classicist Mary Beard. The shortlist of six features Marlon James, M. John Harrison, Luke Kennard, Rebecca Perry, Douglas Stuart and Elizabeth Strout. Two of them, Stuart and James, have won the prize before. Harrison, shortlisted for The End of Everything, will be a familiar name to many readers of science fiction and fantasy.

The Booker Prizes website publishes extracts, reading guides and author interviews for each shortlisted book, which makes the weeks before the announcement a good time to read along.
