Bath Literature Festival is organised by Bath Festivals, a charity founded in 1948 that runs music and book festivals in the city and a year-round programme of outreach. In 2025 the literature and music festivals ran as part of The Bath Festival in May.
The literature festival ran over nine days, from 17 to 25 May 2025, with more than 60 events in venues around the city. The programme included novelists, historians, broadcasters, comedians and nature writers, as well as a series of lunchtime lectures on cultural subjects.
It suits readers who prefer a mid-sized festival where most events are within walking distance, and visitors who want to combine a few talks with a weekend in Bath.
