The Arthur C. Clarke Award is given to the best science fiction novel first published in the UK in the previous year. Its judges are nominated by the British Science Fiction Association, the Science Fiction Foundation and the Sci-Fi-London film festival.
The 39th winner was revealed at a ceremony in London on Wednesday 25 June 2025: Annie Bot by Sierra Greer, published by The Borough Press. It is a first-person account of a robot designed to be a perfect companion who struggles to become free. The shortlist also included books by Julia Armfield, Kaliane Bradley, Ian Green, Adrian Tchaikovsky and Maud Woolf.
By tradition the prize money matches the year, so the winner received £2,025 and an engraved commemorative bookend.
