Details and tickets

Agatha Christie: A World of Mystery runs at the British Library from 30 October 2026 to 20 June 2027, fifty years after Christie's death. It has been developed with Agatha Christie Limited and the Christie Archive Trust, and the Library describes it as the largest UK exhibition celebrating her writing in two decades.

The exhibition looks at how her travels, wartime work and interests in archaeology and pharmacology shaped her characters and plots. Items include the 1937 Remington typewriter reportedly used for And Then There Were None, her notes for the stage version of Witness for the Prosecution, the typescript of her first short story, House of Beauty, her 1917 pharmacy exam notes, letters and family photographs, and recordings of her own dictation.

Tickets cost £20 to £25 depending on timing, with concessions available. Displays and crime fiction events will also take place in public libraries around the UK.
